Hunter won Best of Breed in the 2019 Weimaraner Association of Canada Regional Specialty, on June 8, 2019, under esteemed breeder judge Mr. Peter King from Australia. I am so grateful for all the lovely compliments that Judge King had for my gorgeous home-bred boy. What a way to finish his show career.
Hunter is the show pick male out of the Venus x Cervelo litter. The theme for the litter was Pearl Jam songs. Hunter lives with his family in near Barrie, Ontario. Hunter debuted in the show ring at the Scarborough Kennel Club show in March 2017. He earned Best of Winners and Best Puppy in Breed both days for his first 2 points. He also earned his Canine Good Neighbour on the Saturday. We are very proud of how this handsome boy is maturing and how he is being raised by his co-owners. We look forward to continuing his show career in 2017. With extremely limited showing, Hunter finished his Canadian Championship with two back-to-back 3 point major Best of Winners awards at the Weimaraner Association of Canada (WAC) Booster and the Cornwall District Kennel Club Group 1 Limited Breed Show. He also earned a lovely Reserve Winners Dog under breeder-judge Rosemary Shoreman at the WAC Eastern Regional Specialty. He is either shown by his owner, Lisa, Bronwyn, or by a junior handler (Audrey Harvey). He took a Best of Winners and Best of Opposite Sex award at the Barrie Kennel & Obedience Club show, over a Top Ten special for a 2 point major. In Hunter's debut as a special, the following weekend at the WAC Booster at Oakville, he took a wonderful Select Dog for his first point, over a professionally handled special. He was reunited for this win with one of his favourite Junior Handlers, Audrey Harvey. Hunter has earned multiple Selects and a Best of Opposite in a very limited career as a special so far. Hunter finished his Canadian Grand Championship in style. After only coming out a few times in 2018, he earned a 5-point Select Dog under judge Kim Leblanc at the Barrie Kennel Club show on August 4, the same day as the Weimaraner Association of Canada (WAC) National Specialty. At the WAC Booster on the following Monday, he earned another 2 point Select Dog. He was then not shown until November 2018, when he came out to the Credit Valley weekend and in all 3 shows he was entered in, he earned 3 x Best of Breeds for the final points towards his Grand Championship. His final Best of Breed, under Judge Jack Ireland, was especially meaningful, as Mr. Ireland thought highly enough of Hunter to cut him into his final line up for group. Hunter was breeder-owner handled for most of his Grand Championship. Hunter is a natural in the bird field. He is a lovely boy, with incredible bone and substance, and a lovely, sweet but masculine face. Hunter will be playing occasionally in the altered ring with Bronwyn, but spends most of his time being spoiled by his kids and his family! |
