 Mako at 16 months (June 2023) winning Best Bred by at 2 Weimaraner Specialties and 3rd in Intermediate Futurity
Mako is my keeper girl from the Vedder x Volt litter. She is already demonstrating an aptitude for versatility and a love of learning like her mama Vedder. Her first show weekend (second time in the ring) she went all the way securing Best Baby Puppy in Show at the Ontario County show under breeder-judge Pamela Bruce. She came back out to show at Kawartha and earned her second Best Baby Puppy in Group (Pierry McLean) and Best Baby Puppy in Show (Wayne Thompson).
She quickly earned her Canadian Championship and finished 2022 with 2 Best Baby Puppy in Show and 3 Best Puppy in Group awards, as well as completing her Field Dog Junior title in 3 straight passes, and her Novice Trick Dog. At 7 months we took a spin in the Rally Novice ring just for experience and she came away with the first 2 legs of her RN title. Mako was the FOURTH Weimaraner in the world to earn a Trick Dog Grand Championship with Do More With Your Dogs. The first Weimaraner to earn this achievement was her mother Vedder, which makes Mako my second generation of bred-by Trick Dog Grand Champions. Mako is being shown on a very limited basis in Canada in 2025. We are actively working on solidifying our skills in agility and have returned to trialing in both CKC and AAC. Hopefully we can even try out a UKI trial this year. We are also training towards higher level titles in the field. We will also return to more consistent training for obedience and rally. Mako was the 12th Weimaraner in the World, and my 2nd generation to earn a Trick Dog Championship through Do More With Your Dog. She also earned her Trick Dog Grand Championship this year as well and was the 4th Weimaraner in the world, and second generation to earn this title as well. We love training tricks as Weimaraners are so smart and love to learn, and it really helps the bond between human and dog. Additionally, we plan to have Mako have her first litter in early 2026. Mako will return to the conformation ring on a limited basis in 2026 to complete her Grand Champion Bronze title, and then our focus will shift to Agility and Field Work. We may slot in some Rally and Obedience potentially, and might try our hand at Scent Detection. 2024

Mako is being shown on a very limited basis in the conformation classes in Canada and the US while we focus on finishing Vedder's GCHBronze this summer. She has however had a very busy spring earning her CGN, GCH, RN, VN, NA112 and placing at her WCA Futurity in Wrentham, Massachusetts. She also earned her first leg of her Rally Intermediate title in April as well. She is training in agility and has been in a few fun matches and trials as for fun only to develop her skills even further. She's shown incredible versatility this spring in several different sports in less than 6 months. I am very excited with what we might accomplish in the future. 2022

This puppy had a really fun whirlwind of a puppy career in the ring and also knocked her FDJ out of the park with 4 consecutive passes, each with a higher score than the previous one. She earned multiple best baby puppy in show awards, multiple best puppy in group awards and some big best of breed and best of opposite wins from the puppy classes. She earned her first two legs of Rally Novice at 7 months of age. |
