Guelph & District Kennel Club - April 22, 2017 We made the trek to the Guelph show for one day on April 22, 2017 with Hunter, Vedder and Molson. All-Breed Show (Entry [11 total]: 2 class boys, 6 class girls, 3 champion boys, 0 champion girls) Vedder earned Winner's Bitch, Best of Winners, Best Puppy in Breed and Best of Opposite Sex for a 3 point major win against an entry of 8 class Weimaraners. This put her total at 7 points towards her championship. Hunter earned Winner's Dog for his third point towards his Championship. This also marked the debut of his co-owner Lisa in the Conformation ring. She did a great job with him! Molson debuted in the Veteran's ring, and we had lots of fun but did not advance. Limited Breed - Sporting Breed Show (Entry [7 total]: 2 class boys, 4 class girls, 1 champion boys, 0 champion girls) Vedder earned Reserve Winner's Bitch, in an entry of 4 class girl Weimaraners. Although it was not worth points, we were very proud of how she showed. Hunter earned Winner's Dog for his fourth point towards his Championship. Victoria County Kennel Club - April 29/30, 2017 Against a much smaller entry the following weekend, Bronwyn and Vedder traveled to Lindsay for the Victoria County show. The entry for both days was 0-2-1-0, meaning there were two class girls and one specials (champion) boy. On Saturday, Vedder earned Winner’s Bitch, Best of Opposite Sex and Best Puppy in Breed for her 8th point. On Sunday, Vedder showed like a little rock star and earned Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed, over the Champion to finish her Canadian Championship with a bang under Judge Lynda Saranchuk. She was just under 9 months of age. (Photo below). K-W Kennel Club - May 20, 2017 We made the trip to the K-W show for one day, again like the Guelph show where there was an all-breed and a limited breed show on the same day. Limited Breed Show – German Breeds (Entry [7 total]: 2 class boys, 2 class girls, 1 champion boys, 2 champion girls) Vedder debuted as a special (champion) working towards her Grand Championship. She was awarded Select Bitch for 1 point – her first Grand Champion point. Hunter earns his 5th championship point by taking Winner’s Dog and Best of Winners. All-Breed Show (Entry [6 total]: 1 class boys, 1 class girls, 2 champion boys, 2 champion girls) Vedder was awarded Select Bitch for 2 points – her first Grand Champion major and bringing her to 3 grand champion points in her first day as a special. Hunter was awarded Reserve Winner’s Dog. Vedder - New Champion - Victoria County April 2017 - Judge: Lynda Saranchuk

The Scarborough Kennel Club marked the debut of another of our Pearl Jam puppies - Hunter - into the show ring. This was his first show ever and were we ever impressed with how he looked and showed.
On Saturday, March 11, Hunter went Winner's Dog and Best of Winners over his sister for his first point. On Sunday, March 12, he did it again to take his second point! Hunter and Vedder were both entered to try and earn their Canine Good Neighbour designation, and they were so wonderfully behaved. Both puppies earned their Canine Good Neighbour designations on their first try, meaning they both earned their first title on the same day. These puppies are maturing beautifully, and I look forward to continuing their show careers in 2017. Pictured is Hunter's official win photo with Judge D. Cornelssen on Saturday, then Hunter and Vedder stacked with breeder Bronwyn, and then Vedder with her judge Naomi Kane following successful completion of her Canine Good Neighbour. The start of March brought the debut into the regular show ring for our girl Vedder (Wynder's Beneath the Waves). She competed for the first time for points towards her Canadian Championship.
On Saturday, March 4th, Vedder showed as a Junior Puppy (6-9 month old class), and she won her class. She then defeated a Senior Puppy (9-12 month old class) to win Winner's Bitch for her first 2 points (and major). She then went into the Breed ring to compete against the Winner's Dog and the 2 specials (one male and one female). Vedder won Best of Winners (defeating the Winner's Dog), as well as Best Puppy in Breed, and Best Breeder-Owner handled in breed. On Sunday, March 5th, Vedder made it back-to-back, for her second 2 points and major, and now sits at 4 points towards her championship! We are so looking forward to the future with this beautiful girl. |
